| O F F E R T O R Y a.k.a. "Preparation of the Gifts" |
| The offertory, immediately following the Prayer of the Faithful, marks the beginning of the Eucharist section of the liturgy. A priest would tell you this is where your wedding becomes less about you & more about Jesus... Songs in this spot should represent themes of the Bread & Body, or of personal reflection. A few suggestions are: I Have Loved You I have loved You with an everlasting love, I have called you & you are mine. Seek the face of the Lord and long for Him. He will give you His joy & His hope. Open My Eyes Open my eyes, Lord. Help me to see your face. Open my eyes, Lord. Help me to see. Open my ears, Lord. Help me to hear your voice. Open my ears, Lord. Help me to hear. I live within you. Deep in your heart, O Love. I live within you. Rest now in me. Prayer of St. Francis Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow your love. Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord, and where's there's doubt, true faith in you. Oh Master, grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console - to be understood, as to understand. To be loved, as to love with all my soul. Taste & See Taste & see, taste & see the goodness of the Lord. Oh taste & see the goodness of the Lord. I will bless the Lord at all times - His praise shall always be on my lips. My soul shall glory in the Lord for He has been so good to me. Take Our Bread Take our bread, we ask you. Take our hearts, we love you. Take our lives, O, Father, we are yours. Yours as we stand at the table you set, Yours as we eat the bread our hearts can't forget. We are the sign of your life with us yet. We are yours, we are yours. |
